In a provocative legal challenge that reignites the national debate over diversity in higher education, America First Legal (AFL)—a group founded by former Trump adviser and controversial political figure Stephen Miller—has formally requested that the U.S. Department of Justice investigate Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for what it calls “deeply illegal” diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices.
The complaint, sent directly to DOJ Civil Rights Division head Harmeet K. Dhillon, alleges that Johns Hopkins is operating a “discriminatory DEI regime” in violation of federal civil rights law and recent Supreme Court rulings.
